I was born in northern Italy in the city of Vicenza. I studied architecture at the University of Venice, then switched my field of interest to fashion design.
From the early 1980s and into the 1990s, I traveled the world working for United Colors of Benetton — at first in design, later in visual merchandising.
It wasn’t until I moved to California and began exploring its woodlands, deserts, and coastal areas — and their many microclimates — that I had an epiphany. My fascination with these beautiful landscapes led me to enroll in the Garden Design program at UC Berkeley, while working full-time at Sloat Garden Center in Marin County.
After graduating from Berkeley and with management experience at Sloat, I felt confident and knowledgeable enough to start my own business: Good Garden Design.
Today, from my centrally located home and office in quaint Point Richmond, I help clients all over the Bay Area design and maintain their good gardens.
